Not a morning person? I didn’t use to be either! In the past year my mornings have completely changed and now they are my favorite time of day! Here are a few quick tips to make mornings a little more appetizing!
1. Wake up tech-free. I don’t know about you, but one of the first things I do in the morning is check my phone. This is not my best habit! Scrolling through Instagram may be fun and inspiring in the afternoon, but something about first thing in the morning just feels like a way to see how much more productive other people are being than me. Bam, instant mood killer! Try using an actual alarm clock and waking up without your phone even near you! You can check Instagram when your mind is awake enough to handle it!
2. Morning quiet time. Regardless of your beliefs I think everyone should have some time in the morning to set your priorities straight. Use this time to journal, make your to-do list, and spend time in the Word. Need some inspiration? Check out She Reads Truth for awesome daily devotionals!
3. Have a cup of tea, coffee, or hot lemon water. Wake up and smell the coffee! A little caffeine in the morning never hurt anyone! There is something calming about spending time with a mug of goodness in your hand!
4. Make a to-do list the night before. I tend to lay in bed at night and think about everything I have to do the next morning. I have found that by writing everything down the night before it is much easier to fall asleep, and I have way less stress in the morning! I don’t have to think about what my day is going to look like, I already know!
5. Make your bed. You are probably thinking “oh she’s a cleaning person”. No. False. My room is a mess. Always. However, my bed is always made. (okay..almost always!) There is something satisfying about doing one productive thing first thing in the morning! If this is all you get done in the morning you at least accomplished something! Plus when you walk in your room at night, the sight of a freshly made bed will make you smile. I promise you!
Now you tell me!
1. What makes your morning better?
2. What does your morning routine look like?
3. What is your morning beverage of choice?

A little shot of whipped cream in my coffee when I sit to read in the mornings puts smile on my face!
