Guest Post and Giveaway! Jen from Paisley & Sparrow

Hello Friends! You all know one of my favorite parts of the blogging/small business world is connecting with lovely ladies! Jen and I first met over Periscope and I am so excited that she is guest posting on the blog today! Woot woot!! We are both styling the same pair of earrings and swapping blogs for the day, so be sure to check out her blog to see how I styled the earrings! Hi everyone! I’m Jen from Paisley + Sparrow. Paisley + Sparrow is an online boutique full of beautiful fair trade fashion merchandise (think scarves, jewelry, bags, etc). I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with Katie over on Periscope and am thrilled to be guest posting here on her blog!

I’m a born and raised MN girl so I’m a big fan of the changing seasons. I can only spend so much time in summer dresses or thick sweaters so I love it when the weather takes a turn! My absolute favorite is fall but I love winter because it has my favorite holiday attached to it – CHRISTMAS! My favorite thing about these seasons is being able to wear scarves daily without dying of heat!

I’m a firm believer that a scarf can be worn with any accessory (yes, I often wear necklaces underneath my scarf…weird, I know) but my favorite is with funky earrings like these Soresa earrings! These earrings are awesome because they’re made out of melted down bullet casings and are empowering marginalized women in Ethiopia. They’re truly making a difference in someone’s life! My favorite way to style my scarves is by tying the 2 ends together to make it in infinity! It’s super easy to do and this way you wear your scarf a number of different ways simply by untying the knot!

One trick for surviving fall/winter fashion is to not put away summer clothes like tank tops and shorts. Shorts can easily be worn with warmer tights underneath them and tank tops are so easy to throw on underneath a thick sweater! My tank says “Elle est forte” or “she is strong” in French. It’s from an awesome company called She Is Clothing who is to speak true strength into the lives of people everywhere! I kinda love them. 🙂
