Man oh man does it feel good to write this post. We’ve had something in the works for months and we finally get to share it! Katie Grace Photography got a facelift! Woot woot!!
For those of you who don’t know, I’m a wedding photographer. Straight out of high school I was asked to shoot a friends wedding. I took a leap of faith and went for it, seriously underestimating how it would change my future. I dug in head first and became a full time entrepreneur at age 18. Who knew I would love photography, business, and weddings so much!
We are in our 5th wedding season and the business has grown and changed so much. We went from 1 wedding on a limb, to over 60 weddings in just a couple years. We grew from just my mom and I (my faithful and ridiculously talented second shooter) to a team of four! We went from googling everything starting with “how to apply for a business license” to a systemized and smooth workflow and client experience. All of this has been the Lord, how else do you explain this from a 18 year old who skipped college ;).
In 2015 I launched our first website and bought some pre-designed business cards and called it “branding”. But as things have grown and improved our true “brand” has been developed and our “branding” has stayed behind. We outgrew the original website and paper goods, but never took the time to update it.
It. was. time. After months and months of dreaming, working, and revising we are thrilled to share our new branding!

We started with going through our favorite images and recognizing what tied them together. We thought a lot about wedding days and why we love them. We found ourselves dwelling on the fact that wedding photos create a legacy and we want to keep that timeless. We went with simple colors like gold and white. After deciding on a color scheme we searched for the right website and logo. Then finally it was time for paper goods. Jenny painted this beautiful watercolor pattern for our stationary and we used our solid logo for the business cards.
I’m a paper junkie, so choosing where to order from was a hassle. I’ve used printers from the cheapest of cheap all the way to high end, but this was our first time working with Basic Invite. I’m a natural skeptic when it comes to paper goods, but I was SO pleasantly surprised.
It’s hard to balance spending money on a business card that people will most likely find in the bottom of their purse 3 months after getting it from you and throw away, vs a piece of paper potentially being the first thing someone encounters with our brand. Basic Invite is the best of both worlds. They were some of the most affordable business cards I’ve ever ordered, and were hands down the best quality! They have high end business cards for all businesses and special designs for things like photography businesses. They also sell things like Christmas cards, stationery, etc!
My favorite thing about Basic Invite is that they offer raised foiled lettering even on the designs you upload yourself. We kept the design simple because we wanted it to match our website, but designing your own often means you can’t use features like gold foil printing. Not the case with them! We uploaded our own PNG file and they printed it in beautiful gold foil.
The quality of the paper is beautiful, and the gold foiling hasn’t chipped off one bit. I can’t recommend them enough! If you are looking to order some new paper goods you can use the code “15FF51 ” for 15% off!
I am so endlessly thankful for the families that invite us into their celebrations, the joyful moments we get to capture, and the most wonderful ladies that I get to work alongside every day. It is truly a gift.
