Haappppy Monday! It is a good week to have a good week! First of all, I have to say a HUGE thank you to you people. Last week I shared an update on my health and was blown away by the response. You are the kindest. I shared that post a little hesitantly and sheepishly as I’m never sure quite how much to share, and was met with open arms, encouragement, and more kind messages than I’ve ever received in response to a post. I was reminded once again that the world is never as big as it feels, and a tool like social media can be a powerful means of connection. Thank you for responding with such grace and for encouraging me to keep sharing more of my story as it unfolds.
This week feels like an in-between week. Friday is my surgery and so I’m in major prep mode! I made a master list two weeks ago of everything that needs to be accomplished for work, errands that need to be run, and things around the house that I’d like to prep. It’s a minor surgery, and they estimate that recovery should be pretty short but still – I’m nothing if not organized! Ha!
Onto the outfit! It’s cozy season ya’ll. Or as some like to call it – Sweater Weather.
I am all in! I’ve been working the same sweater collection for a few years without adding or replacing any and needless to say, they have seen better days! This is my year to revamp and I’m on the hunt for the coziest, the softest (no itchy sweaters. ever. They should be outlawed.) and the most versatile. This one hit’s all marks! It is crazy soft and oversized for a comfy fit. It is a little bit cropped which I like because it is more boxy shape so the crop brings a little more shape to your waist. Pair it with a good pair of high waisted jeans and you’ve got yourself an outfit!
At the end of the summer my trusty Gap skinnies finally wore through (after years and years) and it was time to replace them. Dark wash skinny jeans are a staple for me and I am PICKY. I don’t need much, just one good pair. My criteria
- high waisted
- good color
- comfortable soft denim
- DOESN’T STRETCH OUT (no one likes saggy jeans 2 hours into the day, and I personally like them to last a few wears between washes)
I searched high and low and finally settled on this pair from Abercrombie & Fitch. They are perfect and have served me well so far!
These booties are perfect for fall and go with everything! They are real leather, super comfy and DSW always has great sales! They do run big, and the leather will stretch as you break them in so I would recommend going down a half size.
Neck scarves – the most versatile accessory no matter the decade! I love tying them in my pony tale for a fun little pop! And yes, I’m still working the Brother’s Leather bag I got back in 2014! Real leather is always worth it!
