A couple weeks back my parents and I took a little weekend trip to Tennesee for my cousins wedding! We swung by Nashville for a day and fell in love with the city! I’ve decided I was meant to be in the south! Everyone calls you “darlin,” wears bright colors, and sweet tea is accessible everywhere you go!
We heard we needed to make a stop at Biscuit love! My wonderful Father waited in the massive line while my mom and I shopped! Ha! Poor guy!
While biscuits love was charming, adorable, and delicious, I have to say I didn’t think it was allllll it’s cracked up to be! It was SO yummy, but when it comes to fried chicken on a biscuit, I’d still pick the Big Biscuit in Kansas City! And you don’t have to wait in line there ;). On a side note, I have spelled “biscuit” wrong every single time I’ve typed it. Why is this word so hard?? Biscit? Buscit? Biscut? Bisquet?
The Five Daughters Bakery however, did NOT disappoint! It was absolutely adorable, and had the best donuts!!! I could have eaten a whole dozen!
Coming from Michigan it was so refreshing to see things blooming! Draper James. The star of Nashville for me. Oh me, oh my.
Upon walking in a lady asked me kindly in a southern accent if I’d like a glass of sweet tea… and the angels sang.
Draper James was all of my dreams in a store. Current trends have clothing stores feeling more muted, boho, and rugged. While that look works for some people, I’ve never quite been able to find my groove with it! Walking into Draper James was like walking into my dream store! Bright, colorful, feminine!
Even the bathroom and dressing room were to die for! I want to decorate my home after this place! Here are some of the pieces I loved!
Across the street was the darling Amelia’s Flower truck! I have seen this little lady on Instagram before, but it is so joyful to see it in person! Just some fresh flowers brightening up the street!
While we were in Nashville we obviously had to check out some live music! We had dinner at Whiskey Row (Dirks Bentley’s restaurant) and listened to two bands, then went down the street to Honkey Tonk Central. If you go to Whiskey Row, you gotta get the mac and cheese!
I’m sure there was much more to see, but one day was the perfect amount for us! We got to see the city and get a feel for it! I definitely think we’ll be back someday!
