You guys. I am SO excited to FINALLY be sharing photos from the final weeks leading up to my wedding and of course, my wedding! I totally thought these would be the kind of things I blogged as they were happening, but wedding planning is SO much more work than you think it is in the beginning! Things leading up to my wedding were bananas! I didn’t have time for putting together blog posts! Then, I thought “Shirley as soon as I get home from my honeymoon…” but ya know, LIFE! Anyways, over the next few weeks I am going to be sharing photos from some of my favorite memories both leading up to the wedding day, and the day of it’s self! Going through these photos is making me giddy all over again! These are truly some of the sweetest memories of my life!
Today I wanted to share some photos from my 3 bridal showers. My sweet sisters, sister in laws, and bridesmaids were so thoughtful to throw such beautiful parties to celebrate. I have the MOST amazing women in my life and words will never be able to express how thankful I am!
The first shower was thrown by my bridesmaids with family and friends! This day felt like the first of the wedding festivities, and when I look at the pictures I remember how giddy I felt! With wedding planning you do so much over such a long period of time that it can almost feel like the wedding day will never come, so this was the first day things started to feel “real”. They decorated my sister’s house with pots and pans filled with florals! How cute!! One of my favorite memories from this shower was opening a gift from my mom that contained teacups from her wedding china, my grandma’s china, and my great grandma’s china. My Grandma got me started collecting china when I was pretty young and it has always meant so much to me, needless to say I got a little emotional!
The next shower was thrown by my bridesmaids at my best friend Kirsten’s house! They threw an intimate tea party lunch…basically my dream! Kirsten put together the most beautiful tablescape full of china, books, and fresh flowers! All my favorite things!! We had charcuterie boards, and the best time chatting!
The final shower was thrown by Dan’s amazing mom and sisters! I seriously hit the jack pot when it comes to family to marry into, they mean so much to me. The shower was “cozy Christmas” themed including soup & sandwiches, Christmas cookies, and hot cocoa! It was perfect!! This was 3 weeks before the wedding so having a shower to take my mind off of final details was such a blessing!
