Happy Monday friends! I hope you are off to a fabulous week! I know for me, these last few weeks of summer can be hectic! Whether you are wrapping up summer adventures, preparing to go back to school, or mentally preparing for the season and the weather to shift, time can seem to fly by.
I’m thankful that God created seasons for us. Each one holds new joys, new mercies, and different rhythms. I am a creature of habit and would follow the exact same routine every single day if I could. It’s ironic that the Lord chose a job for me that shifts seasonally, and has placed me in a location that is a drastically different climate depending on the month (and sometimes week). I think He knew exactly what He was doing when He chose these things for me because with each change He teaches me to lean into Him as the constant. My routines and structures can make me feel safe, comfortable, and in control. But a sweeter peace comes when I fully trust Him for those comforts.
Anyways, no matter what season you find yourself in throughout the last few weeks of August my hope for you is that you may draw into the presence of the Creator, whose timing is perfect and presence is omnipotent.
I am a firm believer in the power of a good Monday and how it can shape your entire week. In busy work seasons it’s important that I make the best of these rock and roll days. Usually that means my favorite outfit and treating myself to a coffee out. It seemed only fitting today to share this outfit from my trip to Charleston.
This latte was honestly one of the best I’ve had in my life. It was carmel toffee flavored and basically what dreams are made of.
A few other ways I make Monday’s better:
- pick up the apartment on Sunday night so that I wake up to a clean space
- try to stay away from my phone for the first hour I am awake
- prioritize a workout (I find that if I skip Monday I am likely to skip the entire week. . .no exaggeration)
- keep the morning free of meetings or commitments out of the house (or office) so that I can ease into work without distractions
- look over my entire work and personal to-do list for the week & my calendar to orient myself first thing in the morning
- a good playlist
Onto the outfit, I found these pants at American Eagle and fell in love! They are comfy and soft and dreamy. They are basically like fancy pajama pants so YES PLEASE. I prefer them with a basic white t-shirt but with shoes and accessories you can either dress them up or down! Here are a few similar styles that I love!
