In our generation, us women of God love to talk about grace! And why shouldn’t we? It is a beautiful and life-changing thing. Grace is even more so life-giving, it literally brings us from death to life! We talk about freedom and liberation, and those are wonderful things, but we shy away from sin and holiness, forgetting that these are also beautiful. Sin shows us why we need saving, and holiness shows us why God is the only one capable of saving, and then the new way we get to live as believers!
Jess Connolly is tackling this topic in her new book, Dance Stand Run, and ya’ll, you are gonna wanna get your hands on this! When I heard about this book I was full of excitement and anticipation! I set multiple alarms to make sure I was in the first 1,200 women to sign up for the launch team. I have had the privilege of reading this book over the past few months. And I can’t. stop. talking. about this book! Ask anyone who has talked to me recently!
In Dance Stand Run Jess talks about grace, holiness, and mission. How, if we were to truly understand grace it would create a desire in us to live in a holy way that is glorifying to God. And then, if we were to experience the life-changing abundance of grace partnered with holiness, you couldn’t get us to stop trying to make disciples!
As soon as I read the first chapter I knew I’d be blogging about it at some point because it is so full of wisdom and practical knowledge! I’ve seen a mentality switch in my own life since I began reading this book.
I know we often fear that when we talk about holiness it can get murky. We can easily slide into a path of legalism and trying to “win” God’s approval. This book provides such a beautiful picture of how we get to view holiness. I love how Jess puts it in the introduction.
“We get to accept that when God calls us holy, that’s exactly what we are, that our holiness was imparted to us through the righteousness of Christ. We get to live in a way that agrees with and affirms who He says we are.” (pg 25)
Amen right? So good. This book is filled with so many nuggets on topics about saving grace, and Christ’s imparted holiness, as well as things we get to do as a woman of God like:
- Breaking unholy habits
- Coming confidently to the throne room of God in prayer
- Studying God’s word
- Speaking life
- Running on Mission
- Living abundantly
Today the book releases (!!!) and I can’t wait to see how it shapes our generation! Check out the book on Amazon here!
