I’m back again to recap some recent reads!
Since I wasn’t very on top of blogging in 2016 and didn’t often share what I was reading I kept a list on my phone so I wouldn’t forget! I wanted to stop in today and share what my favorite books from the year were! Some I read in paperback, others I listened to through Audible. Either way, these were my favorites!
Hinds Feet on High Places – Hannah Hurnard (Read this one twice in 2016)
I read this in June and again in the Fall. All I have to say is that I wish I had listened to my sister and read it sooner! I would have to say this one was in my top 5!
The Martian – Andy Weir
So. good. I loved the movie and loved the book even more! Even though I’m not very “science-y” I still felt the book was easy to understand and very enjoyable!
Make It Happen – Lara Casey (3rd time reading)
Not the first time I’ve mentioned (or read) this book! Just read it already!
We Should Hang Out Sometime – Josh Sundquist (Thanks Erin for this one!!)
This may actually be in the top 5 as well! It is absolutely hilarious! I couldn’t put it down and read it in 2 days! It is lighthearted and witty and something every millennial that grew up in a Youth Group should read!
Present Over Perfect – Shauna Niequist
SO GOOD. Contemplating starting this one again!
The Celebration of Discipline – Richard J. Foster
Re-reading this one right now! I loved it!
The E Myth – Michael E. Gerber
A must read for all small business owners!
It’s My Turn – Ruth Bell Graham
I loved this book! It was quick and easy but had beautiful messages woven through!
Walking With God Through Pain and Suffering – Timothy Keller
This one took me about the whole year to read. I read a few pages at a time because quite frankly, it’s heavy. That being said it was one of the best books I have read that deals with this topic. It paints such a beautiful picture of the grace and strength the Lord pours upon us!
Counterfeit Gods – Timothy Keller (read this one twice in 2016)
Read it. This is a topic that is not nearly talked about enough. Oh, how easy it is for us to put things in life above our Father in our hearts.
Prodigal God – Timothy Keller
Can you tell I like Timothy Keller? Read this one too 🙂
The Oath – Frank Peretti
This book is so intense!! If you like a good mystery (with a good message!) check it out!
Lessons From Madame Chic – Jennifer L. Scott
Cute, lighthearted, and full of fun tips for a simpler life!
The Magnolia Story – Chip & Joanna Gaines
Chip and Joanna can do no wrong in my mind.
The Greatest Gift – Ann Voskamp
I worked through this Advent devotional in December and loved it! Great for the Christmas season!
I would love to know what you are reading! I’m always looking for more books so I’d love it if you’d leave recommendations in the comments!
