Since moving into our apartment I have had so much fun decorating the space and making it our own! I must admit, it’s been harder than I anticipated! I have had a hard time deciding what type of style I want to go with. I love a lot of different things and fluctuate between wanting to go mid century with some scandinavian or totally preppy colorful & traditional! I’ve enlisted the help of the two most home decor savvy people I know – Meredith and my mom – and they have made things so fun! I think that I Marco Polo Mere about my home pretty much every single day. Bahah! What would we do without friends, right?
Our current project is the bedroom! This hasn’t been high on our priority list but after tackling a few other projects it’s finally made it’s way up on the list! For a while we were working with a mattress on a frame (no box spring made it reeeaaalll low to the ground haha!) and one borrowed lamp from my mom that we would pass back and forth from each side of the bed based on who wanted to stay up later reading. We’ve now successfully raised the bed, found nightstands and have two matching lamps! This past weekend we found a piece of art at an antique store that we both instantly fell in love with! It is a beautiful oil painting of a street in France and we are both pretty much enamored with it. It ties in beautifully with the historic charm of the house and has given me more direction towards what style I want to go. I’ve been finding myself loving a more traditional feel with high contrast and lots of fresh, clean whites.
This week Dan and I have been on the hunt for a headboard and picking one has lead me to scouring Pinterest. I thought for today’s post it would be fun to throw it back to an old Friday Fun post and share the beds I’ve been eyeing! We’ve been shopping on Wayfair, Overstock, Amazon, and Joss & Main! Hopefully we will have one picked out shortly! Once I get a little more of the bedroom put together I will share pictures!
I love these inspiration pictures and the way they all feature statement artwork, simple colors, clean lines, contrast, and fluffy beds!
