When I think of leather pants I think motorcycles, motley crew, and mostly things that aren’t my style. But these Spanx Faux Leather leggings caught my eye last fall and I’ve had them on my mind since. Something about them felt less intimidating to me and considering I wear leggings almost every day in the fall and winter- it felt like a good way to jazz things up. I may not be cool enough to pull them off, but that sure isn’t stopping me from getting my money’s worth out of them! They are a little pricey so I did lots of brainstorming on how versatile they could be before purchasing, and waited until they were on sale to snag them.
A couple specifics about the leggings:
– I like them because the sheen isn’t super obvious. It keeps them more subtle and a little less HELLO I’M WEARING LEATHER PANTS
– they are high waisted which is a win in my book
– I am 5’4″ and ordered the petite, they are less high waisted than the regular length but the pant leg is still a smidge long on me. If you are under 5’6″ I’d recommend going with the petite.
– They are Spanx, so naturally they suck you in. If you like that sorta thing get your regular size. If you want to eat extra bread at dinner and still be able to breath, I would size up. I tried on both sizes and they didn’t look very different on. The smaller size is just a little more smoothing.
This sweater from Old Navy is one of my favorite purchases of the fall so far and I’m thinking about getting it in more colors. Like I said, I wear leggings almost every day, so having a comfy sweater long enough to pair with them is solid gold to me! I love owning staple pieces like this because with a swap of a jacket or scarf I can create a different outfit without just a couple affordable accessories. Leggings + Sweater + Scarf + Cardigan/Jacket = my cold weather uniform!
