This past weekend Dan and I made a little trip to Chicago to celebrate our anniversary! It was so. much. fun. We had been saving our credit card points and put them towards a couple nights at the Waldorf Astoria – which was AWESOME. It was such a great experience. Probably the nicest hotel I will ever stay in haha. I almost stole a robe.
We stayed Thursday-Saturday which was perfect because things weren’t super busy. We loved that the hotel was walking distance from everything, so we shopped, ate out, and watched our latest obsession – Riverdale (yes, I’m ashamed) – in the hotel.
How amazing is this giant Christmas tree in the Waldorf Courtyard?
Now enjoy my obsessive pictures of the Ralph Lauren store. I have never been in person and I was IN AWE. Dan and I wanted to move right in. We spent probably 45 minutes just admiring the decor on each floor. When we got to the top floor (the home decor section) we were in heaven.
Day two we did more shopping and more eating. We started the morning at the Starbucks Reserve (the biggest Starbucks in the US). Not going to lie, it was cool to see and experience once, but the lines were crazy and I think I’m content with smaller coffee shops ◡̈ . Still fun though!
We are suckers for a fancy meal, so Dan threw on his tux, I threw on my favorite Gal Meets Glam Christmas dress (from my Rehearsal Dinner), and we went to Nice Osteria. IT WAS SO GOOD. Highly recommend! Get the fried potato butter balls… but also if you see a name like that on the menu, you should always get it.
This weekend was honestly the best. We are planning to make it a yearly tradition! I’ll start collecting your Chicago recommendations for next year now!
