Back again with a few final photos of our space! Today – the kitchen and dining room! We are so thankful to have a space that was renovated right before we moved in so we had new countertops and cupboards. While we don’t have a lot of storage, we do have a lot of counter space which I really appreciate! We have a small dining room off of the kitchen (that doubles as my workspace frequently). It used to be a porch off the back of the house that our landlord built into the space and we are so happy he did! It adds just a little bit more square footage. While we weren’t originally planning on having a table, I’m sure glad we do! We make use of it way more than I thought we would, and we love being able to have friends over.
We haven’t done much as far as decor when it comes to the kitchen. Dan had the idea to put our dishes on a cart (keep the more visually appealing things in sight so that we can use the cupboards to store things like food). I have my kitchen aid out on the counter because (while I’m not much of a baker) it makes me happy. In the dining room we’ve added a ladder bookshelf from Aldi and a cupboard from my parents basement to store my china collection. Our table is from Ikea and the chairs were a steal on Amazon! I even put them together myself!
One thing I was really looking forward to about getting married is having someone to cook for. I don’t eat much but I *thought* I would enjoy cooking! Wrong! Most nights after finishing work I’m tired, distracted, and too busy trying to shut my work brain off to think about dinner. Thankfully we’ve found that Dan actually really loves de-stressing in the kitchen and so he makes most of our meals! I married up ya’ll!
