Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a wonderful week! Tomorrow is my g-tube surgery so I’ve prepped a bit of blog content! If you need me I’ll be in my jammies, binging old Grey’s Anatomy episodes for the next few days! If you happen to think of it, I would love prayers for a smooth surgery and smooth recovery! My parents will come and Dan is taking the day off work. I’m thankful that it is leading up to a weekend so that he can be home to relax with me!
Anyways, on to today’s post! I wanted to share a few more photos of our apartment! Next up – the bedroom!
Our bedroom is still a work in progress but I’ve loved putting together this cozy space! This room hasn’t been top priority as it is easy to close the door and forget about it! It currently acts a lot like a storage room and holds the random furniture that we don’t have a great places for (bookshelf, cedar chest, desk, and sometimes an inversion table that is currently in our dining room, ha!). That said, it has some of my favorite details in the apartment like the big windows and doors.
I found these nightstands right after we got home from our honeymoon at HomeGoods, and the lamps are IKEA!
This IKEA dresser has stood the test of time and it creates a TON of storage, I can’t recommend it enough! We keep a lot on the top of our dresser so I’ve been playing with using different plates, trays, and platters to store things like Dan’s cologne, my perfume, and jewelry.
The windows and radiator are my favorite. This room gets so much natural light and because of the crystal windows we have rainbows on our walls when the sun shines. It makes me so happy! I love having my desk in the window for that reason!
Our bedding was a wedding gift and the pillows I’m not decided on. We had them in our living room for a bit, but now they float back and forth between the living room and bedroom. Our headboard was a recent addition and I had no idea how big of a difference they make when it comes to comfort!
Dan and I found this painting while antiquing one day and instantly fell in love. It was a pricier purchase for us (but still a good price for what it is) so we initially walked away, then a few hours later found ourselves both still thinking about it so we went back for it! We love it and it makes both of us happy every time we look at it! We joked about how we felt like “real grown ups” buying our first piece of art. We haven’t decided where we are going to hang it yet (and haven’t decided if we can realistically hang it in an apartment where we aren’t allowed to put nails in the walls 😂)so for now it is leaning on our dresser until it finds a permanent home.
For work my parents are generously letting us continue using my previous bedroom as an office at their house. It is far more functional since my mom and I (and sometimes Meg) are most often working in the same space. But, as a wedding gift Dan surprised me and refinished this little desk for our apartment. I love it and love having a little corner for focused work on the days I work from home.
