When I thought about where I wanted to start with sharing our wedding our video came to mind. It perfectly sums up the day as a whole and felt like the perfect place to begin. Every time I watch it I dissolve into a puddle of both tears and joy! My dear Gabby made it, kicking butt as both a bridesmaid and videographer. She is so special to me and having her and her husband David be the ones to capture our day in this medium meant the world to us.
Everything about the video was a surprise for us. Knowing Gabby creates absolute magic I told her I didn’t want to know anything. She sent me a text message while we were still on our honeymoon with this sneak peek and I LOST it. We projected it onto the tv in our hotel room and I bawled! I truly felt like if that was the only wedding video we ever had I had won the lottery – turns out she had a whole lot more up her sleeve.
Gabby choosing the song “Amazing Grace” meant so much to me. Because isn’t that truly what it’s all about? We have been ransomed, we have been redeemed, we have been brought near to the throne of Grace. It all comes back to this, it all boils down to this. We experience love in relationships because of the love Christ first displayed for us when we bore our sins and poured out His redemptive love for our salvation. This is the foundation on which everything is built, so the joy of something like a wedding is just the icing. It is just an external reflection of the abundance we get to experience in Christ’s presence and arms each day. All is grace. All is grace. All is grace.
There are so many clips I love in this video! I love the way my mom is looking at Dan as he is watching me come down the aisle. I love how you can see Dan wiping his tears while I hug my sisters in the back of the church just after the ceremony. I love the clips of my nieces dancing together and how you can see my grandma in the back while we are cutting our cake. I love Dan’s mom throwing her head back in laughter during their dance together, and I love how we have an accurate depiction of truly how ridiculous my family and I look on a dance floor. I love the clip of the snow falling just outside the church and I LOVE the clips of us during our snow exit.
This video is such a gift to have and to hold onto, I will never get tired of watching it!
Thank you Gabby for being the dream best friend and for pouring your heart into our wedding day whether or not you had a camera in hand!
Next week I’m going to start digging into sharing our photos! Stay tuned!
