Sit down, buckle up, and get ready because I am doing something utterly ridiculous. I am writing an entire blog post just on Pumpkin Spice Latte’s.
It is no secret that the fall and winter season’s are what makes my heart go pitter pat. The crisp air that hits us mid september delights my soul. Boots, scarfs, hats, and chunky sweaters. Hmmm. Doesn’t it all sound lovely? There is one more thing that makes fall oh-so-wonderful.
Pumpkin. Spice. Lattes.
I have always loved the decadent smell of coffee. Growing up there was nothing better than waking up and coming down into the kitchen to get a whiff of my dads dark roast, but when the pumpkin spice latte’s made their way into my life it was all over.
In the fall of 2007 (yes I remember the year…pathetic) I was introduced. Stacy, my (non) cousin, gave me a sip of hers and that was the end of it. If there is coffee within a 10 mile radius, I’ll find it. Straight up black or flavored to the max, I’ll take it any way I can get it. There is something special about the PSL though, we all know it. Fall days are filled with cozy fires, pumpkin carving, beautifully tinted leaves, and rosy cheeks. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are the essence of fall.
On August 25 these warm drinks returned to bless us again, so I recommend you get yo self to the nearest Starbucks. Stat.
Here’s to the Pumpkin Spice Latte, the rich creamy taste that warms our hands, belly, and heart.
