Happy June! April was a really fun, relaxed month! We had beautiful weather, we worked on house projects (took huge steps forward on the backyard this month!), and we spent a lot of time just laying low. Dan taught me a new card game, we watched both seasons of Windy City Rehab, and I remembered how stinking much I love Trader Joes. I’ve rotated between wearing my new favorite sweats, and summer dresses + a jean jacket. I’ve playing youtube videos (of my favorite vloggers) in the background while updating the KGP website. Nothing too grand, but just a good month overall. Oh, and I watched a bunny give birth in my front yard!!
As for May, it absolutely FLEW by! We hopped into wedding season with one of our busiest months of the year and it has felt SO GOOD. After a year of canceled weddings, being busy is such a relief. Seeing people on a dance floor at a wedding reception is pretty much the happiest sight! Since I seemed to miss the month of blogging, I’m gonna round up my favorites from both months!
AT HOME ICED LATTES
I have been working on perfecting my at home latte recipe for about a year now and let me just say, it’s good. I use a $30 espresso maker and a simple $10 amazon milk frother and feel no need to upgrade! I made an Instagram reel with the whole recipe! Watch it here!
LOFT MATCHING SET
My mom gave me this yellow sweatsuit for my birthday at the beginning of the month and I’ve worn it pretty much every day since. Half way through the month they went on sale so I grabbed a second matching set (slightly different) in grey and love that one too! The yellow one is more lightweight and you should go down a size in the pants. The grey set is more cozy/fuzzy and I love the shape of the fit, both pieces run true to size.
ROCK THE BLOCK & WINDY CITY REHAB
Dan and I flew threw both seasons of Rock the Block and Windy City Rehab this month. Thanks Mom for letting me use your Discovery + account. 😉 In Rock the Block, 4 HGTV designers renovate identical homes and whoever’s house appraises the highest at the end of 4 weeks wins. It is so interesting to see how different designers all approach the same space. Allison’s designs in Rock the Block were incredible (as were Leanne Ford’s and Nate & Jeremiah’s but I’ve already seen every episode of all of their shows 😉) which lead us to watching her show Windy City Rehab where she flips historic Chicago homes.
MY OFFICE
The last few months my mom and I have been chipping away at decorating our office and this month it really came together! The space was nearly empty all last year and I can’t believe how big of a difference a rug, a lamp, and a few frames made! Now it’s one of my favorite places to be and I’m inspired every time I sit down to work. A few finishing touches and then pictures coming soon!
LETTUCE WRAPS
I’ve been attempting to try a couple new recipes each month and this one was a big favorite! I was hesitant on the water chestnuts (*umm…yuck*) but they work in this and it really does taste like the P.F. Changs lettuce wraps that I love! I’ve made it a couple times and I swap the ground chicken for finely chopped chicken breast (which I keep in the house more) and like it with finely chopped mushrooms thrown in.
TRADER JOES DRIED MANGO
I’m sorry, have you tried this stuff? Yesterday I bought 3 bags..so if that tells you anything.
